How to get from Victoria to Langford?

2 min read Updated

The simplest way to get from Victoria to Langford is the BC Transit RapidBus route 95, which replaced the old route 50 in 2023. By road it is about 15 kilometres and 25 minutes, so a taxi or car is also a good choice. The BC Transit trip planner shows the next departures.

Riding the 95 RapidBus

Route 95, the Blink RapidBus, runs along the same corridor as the former route 50 with fewer stops. BC Transit says buses come every seven to eight minutes at peak times, and at least every 15 minutes between 7 am and 10 pm Monday to Saturday and between 8 am and 10 pm on Sundays, when this service launched. Frequencies can change with each schedule update, so confirm them on the BC Transit site for your travel day.

Because the 95 makes fewer stops, check where the closest stops are to your start and end points. A short walk or a transfer to a local route may be needed. The trip planner will lay out those details.

Paying your fare

BC Transit takes cash on board, and the Umo app and reloadable cards are also supported. Current adult and concession fares are listed on the BC Transit Victoria page, so check there instead of relying on an older price.

Driving from downtown Victoria

Allow about 15 kilometres and 25 minutes by road in normal traffic. The Trans-Canada Highway and the roads toward the West Shore are busiest on weekday mornings and late afternoons, so add time then. Langford has parking near its shopping and recreation areas, and the posted signs give the limits and fees for each lot.

A taxi is the easy option with luggage or at odd hours. Victoria taxi serves pickups in the city, and the taxi fare estimator gives a rough fare for the 15 kilometre trip. To compare with a ride hailing app, try the Uber calculator.

If you are coming from the mainland

BC Ferries connects the Vancouver area to Vancouver Island. Look up crossing times and fares on the BC Ferries sailing schedule, and book a rental car ahead if you need one for the drive to Langford. Rental companies operate at Vancouver International Airport and in the city, and also on the island.
