This page collects the taxi rates companies publish on their own websites, together with our estimated Uber and taxi prices for 297 routes. Rates change, so each row shows the source and the month we last looked. The whole data set can be downloaded as a CSV file: taxi-fares-bc.csv.
Published taxi tariffs
Few companies post a full tariff. Among those that do, per-kilometre rates run from $2.18 in Metro Vancouver to $2.72 in Nanaimo, with flag fees between $3.75 and $4.40. Rates change, so ask the company if the exact figure matters.

Estimates from average rates at normal demand, before tips, tolls and airport fees. The taxi column uses the tariff of a company listed for the route when one is published, and is left empty when none is.
How to read these numbers
- Uber figures are standard rides at normal demand. Busy periods raise them.
- Taxi figures use the first published tariff of a company listed for the route.
- Neither includes tips, tolls or airport fees.
- Where no tariff is published, the taxi cell is empty.

Using the data
You may quote the figures with a link to this page. The CSV has one row per tariff and per route, with the source and the date checked. If you spot an error, use the Found a mistake button and tell us which row it is.
