How to get from Downtown Vancouver to Queen Elizabeth Park?

2 min read Updated

The simplest way from downtown Vancouver to Queen Elizabeth Park is the Canada Line to King Edward Station, then a walk along Cambie Street. The park sits at the junction of Cambie Street and West 33rd Avenue, near the middle of the city.

Canada Line to King Edward

Board at Waterfront, Vancouver City Centre or Yaletown-Roundhouse and ride toward YVR-Airport or Richmond-Brighouse. Stay on past Olympic Village and Broadway-City Hall, and get off at King Edward, which is the fifth stop after Waterfront. Take the stairs or elevator to street level, then head south on Cambie Street. One visitor guide puts the walk to the park at about 10 minutes, with the park on your left.

Oakridge-41st Avenue is the next station along and is also near the park, but King Edward is the one most visitors use. TransLink route 15 runs on Cambie between Olympic Village Station and Marine Drive Station, so it is another way to cover the last stretch.

The TransLink trip planner shows current departures from your downtown stop, and service alerts for the day.

Driving and parking at the park

The park has entrances from Cambie Street at West 29th and West 33rd Avenues and from Main Street at East 33rd Avenue. Pay parking is spread around the park, and EasyPark runs the city’s park lots. Its website has the current hours and fees for each lot, so check there rather than relying on a figure written down months ago.

The lots fill up on sunny weekends. If one is full, look at the side streets and read every sign before you leave the car.

Taxi from downtown

A cab to the Cambie and 33rd Avenue entrance is the easiest choice with a stroller, a wheelchair or a picnic basket. The Vancouver taxi page shows how to book, and the taxi fare estimator gives a ballpark cost.
