The simplest way from downtown Vancouver to Jericho Beach is a taxi or car, about 8 km and 15 minutes by road. On transit, buses reach the Point Grey waterfront from West 4th Avenue and Discovery Street, and the TransLink trip planner will show which route fits your starting point.
Buses to West 4th and Discovery Street
Route 84 runs between VCC-Clark Station and UBC, mostly along West 4th Avenue. Jericho Beach is easy to reach from West 4th west of Alma Street in Point Grey, and buses stop at Alma Street and 4th Avenue and at Discovery Street, near the park. From either stop it is a walk down toward the water.
Bus routes change, so do not rely on a number you read in an old article. Enter Jericho Beach Park as your destination in the TransLink trip planner and use the live departure times for the day. At the weekend a community shuttle has also been reported to run toward the shoreline from 4th Avenue, so look for it in the planner as well.
Driving from downtown
Drivers cross the city toward Point Grey and the waterfront near Jericho. The route and the time depend on the bridge or street you take, and weekend afternoons in summer are slower than the estimate. Look at live traffic before you leave.

Taxi, rideshare and cycling

Cyclists can follow the waterfront paths and bike routes west from downtown. Look at the City of Vancouver cycling map for the current routes, since lanes and closures vary. Lock the bike near the park entrance and bring a spare layer for the evening, as the shoreline can be breezy after sunset.
