The quickest way from Yaletown to Canada Place is the Canada Line. Board at Yaletown-Roundhouse Station and ride one stop to Waterfront Station, which links through Waterfront Centre to Canada Place. If the weather is good, the walk through downtown is also easy and mostly flat.
One stop on the Canada Line
Waterfront Station is the next station after Yaletown-Roundhouse, so the ride is short. Trains run all day, and the TransLink trip planner shows departures for the time you want to travel. Once you reach Waterfront, you can leave through the old railway station onto Cordova Street, or use the passages through Sinclair Centre and Waterfront Centre, which connects to Canada Place.
Follow the signs inside the station for the exit nearest to the waterfront, then keep walking toward the sails of Canada Place. A map app on your phone will show the last few hundred metres.
Fares
Since July 1, 2026, a one-zone fare is $2.85 with a Compass Card and $3.50 paid in cash. A tap to pay card or a Compass Card is the usual way to ride, and TransLink lists the day pass, zones and any airport surcharge on its fares pages, so check those before you travel.
Walking from Yaletown to the waterfront
Yaletown sits within a walk of the waterfront, and the route to Canada Place heads north through the downtown grid toward Burrard Inlet. Walking times depend on where you start in Yaletown and your pace, so check the walking estimate in a map app. Streets near the Convention Centre are wide and easy to follow.
If you want views of the harbour, finish along the waterfront paths near Canada Place. Check for cruise ship days, when the area around the terminal can be crowded and some roads are restricted.
Taxi from Yaletown
The distance is short, so a taxi is mainly useful with luggage or in rain, for example when you are heading for a cruise ship check in. Estimate the fare with the taxi fare estimator or the Uber estimate calculator, and see the Vancouver taxi page for local companies.
Ask the driver to use the cruise terminal drop off if that is your destination, as pickup and drop off points around Canada Place are signed.
