The easiest way from West Vancouver to Lighthouse Park is to drive west along Marine Drive and turn onto Beacon Lane, which leads to the park’s lot. The TransLink 250 bus also stops at Beacon Lane, a short walk from the park.
Driving to Beacon Lane
The park’s address is 4902 Beacon Lane. Coming along Marine Drive, turn left onto Beacon Lane and continue straight until you reach the parking lot. Parking at the park is paid year round, with an exemption for those who hold accessible parking permits. Lots at popular parks tend to fill on sunny weekends, so arriving early in the day gives you better odds, and it is worth having a plan for the walk in if you end up parking further out. Follow the posted signs and pay as instructed.
Taking the 250 bus
The 250 runs along Georgia Street in downtown Vancouver, over the Lions Gate Bridge, past Park Royal and on along Marine Drive in West Vancouver. The stop for the park is just before Horseshoe Bay. The walk to the lighthouse
From the lot, a wide trail leads to the lighthouse in about 10 minutes at an easy pace, which suits a quick visit. A full loop through the forest and along the shore is a much longer outing, up to around two hours, with uneven ground in places, so wear shoes with grip and bring water. Weather changes quickly on the coast, and a rain layer is worth packing outside summer. Stay on the marked trails.
