The easiest way from downtown Victoria to Craigdarroch Castle is a BC Transit bus along Fort Street, or a short drive. The castle is about 3 km from downtown, roughly 10 minutes by road, and it sits at 1050 Joan Crescent just off Fort Street.
Bus along Fort Street
Fort Street is on a bus route, and a local visitor guide lists routes 11 and 14 as dropping you at the foot of Joan Crescent, about a two minute walk from the castle door. Another listing adds routes 15 and 22 with a stop at Fort and Fernwood, a block away. Driving, parking and taxis
From the Inner Harbour the drive up Fort Street and right onto Joan Crescent takes around 8 minutes. The castle says free parking is available on site, and admission includes use of its private lot. On a busy summer day, allow a little extra time to find a space.

Walking or cycling up the hill
The castle describes the walk from downtown as about 2 km along Fort Street with a steady incline, passing boutiques and shops on the way. Fort Street has dedicated bike lanes. If the climb tires you out, a bus or a cab will take you back down.

The castle lists its hours as Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and closes on December 25, December 26 and January 1. Hours can change, so check the castle’s website or call 250.592.5323 before you go.
