Mansons Landing is on the west side of Cortes Island, and the road in is Seaford Road. Reaching Cortes means two BC Ferries sailings from Campbell River: about 15 minutes to Quadra Island, then about 45 minutes on to Cortes.
The two crossings from Campbell River
BC Parks puts the Campbell River to Quadra Island sailing at around 15 minutes and the Quadra to Cortes sailing at around 45 minutes. You drive or walk across Quadra Island between the two, so allow extra time for that leg and for any wait at the Quadra terminal. Timetables change with the season. Check the BC Ferries sailing schedule for both routes, along with the current rules on reservations for vehicles, before you plan your day.
Seaford Road to Mansons Landing
Once on Cortes, BC Parks says the park is reached by Seaford Road, and that it has a small parking area. Because the lot is small, plan to arrive early on a sunny weekend or leave a larger vehicle at a spot you know is allowed. The park page does not list distances from the ferry landing, so use a map app for the live drive from where you come ashore. Nearby communities named on the park page include Whaletown, Squirrel Cove, Cortes Bay and Smelt Bay, which helps when you are reading a map.
Getting around without a car
Cortes is a spread out island with long gaps between services. If you arrive on foot, arrange a ride or a bike rental before you cross, and confirm pickup details with the provider. Pack food and water, and keep a copy of your return sailing time handy. On small islands the last ferry matters more than anything else on the schedule.
