Long Beach Lodge Resort lies just outside Tofino on the Pacific coast, and a car or taxi is the easiest way to get there. Highway 4 is the only main road in the area, so the drive is short and hard to get wrong.
Tofino to the lodge by road
The resort is on the beach side of the Tofino peninsula, south of town, and you reach it from Highway 4. Put the lodge name into your navigation app before you leave and follow the route it gives. The resort’s own website was not available to check here, so confirm the exact street address and any arrival instructions on the lodge’s booking confirmation or contact page.
Traffic builds up on summer weekends, and parking at beach access points around Tofino fills early. Ask the lodge about parking for guests and for visitors before you arrive, because that is a rule the property sets and it can change.
Taxi, shuttle or bike
Tofino has taxi service, and a ride to a resort south of town is a normal local trip. Ask for a fare estimate when you book a car, and check the taxi fare estimator for a ballpark figure. Shuttle operators also work the Tofino area, but their routes and times vary a lot by season, so confirm directly with the company before counting on one.
Cycling is an option for people who ride regularly, though traffic on the main road can be heavy in summer and the weather turns quickly. Check the current conditions and your lights before heading out, especially late in the day.
Reaching Tofino from elsewhere on the Island
Tofino is reached by Highway 4 from the Parksville and Port Alberni side of Vancouver Island. The route is a two lane mountain road with curves, and it takes longer than the map distance suggests. From Vancouver, plan on a BC Ferries crossing to Vancouver Island first. Check the BC Ferries schedule for sailing times on your date and reserve a spot if the crossing is likely to be busy. If you are flying, the Tofino Long Beach Airport is on the same highway, and onward ground transport can be arranged in advance.
