Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park is on Highway 4, about 19 kilometres west of Parksville, and driving is the practical way to reach it from Qualicum Beach. A taxi or rideshare is the next best choice.
Driving out Highway 4
The park’s address is 4001 Alberni Highway, and the main campground and day use area sit 19 kilometres west of Parksville. From Qualicum Beach, head for Highway 4 and drive west toward Port Alberni, following the signs that count down the distance. A large sign marks the entrance. Enter the address into a map app before you leave, since the best way onto Highway 4 depends on where you start in town. Check DriveBC on the day for closures or construction.
The Cameron Lake day use area is a little further on, 23 kilometres west of Parksville, if you want a second stop on the same drive.
Bus service
BC Transit’s Route 9 Intercity connects Qualicum Beach, Parksville and Woodgrove Exchange. The route does not list a stop at the park, and the falls are well outside the towns, so do not plan on a bus reaching the trailhead. Use the BC Transit trip planner for Nanaimo Regional Transit to see the current options, and expect to need a ride for the last stretch.
Taxi or rideshare to the falls
A taxi can take you from Qualicum Beach or Parksville out to the park. Mobile coverage in the forest can be weak, so agree a pickup time with the driver before you walk in. Cycling and on foot at the park
Highway 4 carries fast traffic, so cycling to the park is only for experienced riders, and a shoulder check on a map app is worth doing first. Once there, BC Parks lists about 6 kilometres of walking trails through old growth and second growth forest along the Little Qualicum River, with trails leaving from the campground and from the falls day use area.
