Downtown Vancouver to Cypress Mountain: Uber and taxi price estimate

Estimates reviewed October 2026. How we calculate

Adjust this trip in the Uber calculator Check the taxi fare

How much is an Uber from Downtown Vancouver to Cypress Mountain? At normal demand, about $51, and most trips should land between $45 and $59. The distance is 28 km and the drive takes about 40 minutes.

Fare to the Cypress Mountain base

We worked the estimate out from average rideshare rates: a $2.50 base fare, $1.15 per km, $0.35 per minute and a $2.00 booking fee. Distance adds $32.20 and time adds $14.00, which makes $48.70 with the base fare. The booking fee takes it to about $51.

Uber does not publish these totals, so they are our estimates from average rates. Your real upfront price appears in the Uber app, and you see it before you agree to the ride.

Demand changes the total a lot on a trip this long. A busy period (1.2 multiplier) puts it at about $60. Very busy (1.5) is about $75, and peak (2.0) is about $99.

For a larger vehicle, Comfort is about $63, XL (up to 6 seats) is about $73 and Premier is about $112.

A taxi is the other option. Whalley Taxi and Royal City Taxi publish a $3.75 flag fee and $2.18 per km, so the meter over 28 km comes to about $65 on either tariff. The meter figure leaves out waiting time and any extras. That is about $14 above the standard rideshare estimate at normal demand, though the app can overtake it when demand is high.

Planning a trip to a ski area

Gear and group size

Skis, snowboards and boots take more room than most people expect. Before you book a standard ride, think about how much you are bringing and whether it will fit with the passengers. If there is doubt, choose XL or message the driver after the booking to ask.

It also helps to tell the driver the exact address of your pickup, so they do not have to guess between entrances.

The ride back

Getting to a mountain is usually easier to plan than getting home from one. Drivers are not always nearby when you want to leave, and a busy afternoon can raise the price. Open the app a little before you want to go and check what is available, rather than waiting until you are ready.

If you rely on a wheelchair accessible vehicle, book it by phone in advance. Yellow Cab Vancouver is on 604-681-1111. Forty minutes is an average drive time, so leave extra room if anything at either end is on a schedule.
