Book a ride step by step
- Open the Uber app and log in. Allow it to use your location so it can detect where you are in BC.

- Confirm the pickup point. The app uses your current location, but you can adjust it.

Set up your account

Create the account

If the app misplaces your pickup point, tap the address box and enter the exact address or a landmark, such as the Vancouver Convention Centre. You can also move the pin on the map.
Next tap the “Where to?” bar and enter your destination. The app suggests places based on your input and past trips.

- UberX, the standard option for up to four passengers
- UberXL, with larger vehicles for groups or extra luggage
- Uber Comfort, with newer cars and more space
- Uber Black, a premium service with high-end cars
Tap a ride type to see its fare and arrival time. Check the pickup point, and drag the pin if it needs changing. The app may let you add instructions, such as “Meet at the rear entrance”. Tap “Confirm trip” and you will get live updates on your driver’s approach.
